Teen charged with gun violations

A teenager is being charged after giving a gun to a 15-year-old who was later shot and killed in the city’s Allentown neighborhood in early February, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

Maurice Morgan, 16, is charged with robbery, conspiracy and firearms charges after giving a gun to Tre’Sean Jackson.

Jackson was shot near Loyal Way and Harcourt Way on Feb. 7 and died at a hospital.

According to court documents, Morgan gave a gun to Jackson because they planned to rob someone that day.

Police have not named a suspect in Jackson’s death.

Winter weather advisory issued

A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Allegheny County through 1 p.m.

There is a threat of freezing rain and sleet, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

Conditions could cause travel difficulties with roads being covered in an icy glaze, according to a NWS post.

A high temperature of 58 degrees is expected today, with most of the region seeing rain throughout the afternoon.

Meteorologists said Thursday could reach a high near 70 degrees before colder air returns Friday.
