The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium revealed the name the public helped give its new baby gorilla: Charlotte. The name was selected from almost 700 different entries submitted in the zoo’s baby-naming contest.

The zoo said the name is new to the gorilla species survival plan registry.
