2 injured by gunfire in Pittsburgh’s Uptown
A man and woman were shot Monday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Uptown, authorities said.
Pittsburgh police said they received a ShotSpotter alert indicating seven rounds were fired around 3:40 p.m. in the 100 block of Seneca Street.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Cause of fire at Phipps Conservatory investigated
No one was injured Friday in a fire at Phipps Conservatory, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
The fire started just before 9:30 p.m. in the Oakland facility’s production greenhouse used for orchid cultivation.
Officials said there was no damage to any of the site’s rare plants.
Beechview crash results in 1 injury
Police said one person was injured Monday in a rollover crash in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.
The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Rutherford Avenue.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was unknown.
Unseasonably cold Tuesday
Temperatures will be cool Tuesday with steady showers expected by late afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
The day will start with temps in the low 50s and climb to about 70 degrees.
The Pittsburgh region is expected to get about three-quarters of an inch of rain by evening.

Meeting on Allegheny General Hospital expansion set for Tuesday
Pittsburgh’s Planning Commission will hear plans Tuesday afternoon about a potential expansion at Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.
The project is expected to bring more single-occupancy rooms to the facility.
A map of three potential development sites was presented previously to the planning commission by IKM Architecture.
The proposed locations would encompass up to 290,000-square-feet of space, with an undetermined number of rooms.
Giant Eagle headquarters up for auction
A three-building complex in O’Hara that served as the headquarters for Giant Eagle is scheduled to be auctioned June 20, according to Trib news partner WPXI.
Echo Realty will auction the buildings after the grocer has pivoted to remote-work arrangements for much of its office staff.
The buildings include the 70,000-square-foot headquarters at 701 Alpha Drive, along with buildings at 101 Kappa Drive and 649 Alpha Drive in RIDC Park.
The three buildings are scheduled to go up for auction on CoStar’s Ten-X online auction service.
Man shot in Crafton Heights
Pittsburgh police said a man was shot early Tuesday in Crafton Heights.
Officers responded at 2 a.m. to Woodlow and Crucible streets and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The victim told police he exited a bus and was in contact with two men when he was shot.
