Bob Stevenson won the lone contested race on the Monroeville council.

Stevenson, a Democrat, received 609 votes (52.73%) to defeat Republican Len Young in Ward 3. Young garnered 536 (46.1%). There were 10 write-in votes (0.87%).

“My opponent ran a great race, but lucky for me, the third ward put their faith in me to represent them for the next four years,” Stevenson said.

Joseph K. Hyzy ran uncontested in Ward 1, as did Michael J. Adams in Ward 5 and Dennis R. Biondo Jr. in Ward 7. Incumbent Nicholas J. Gresock ran unopposed in the mayoral race.

All unopposed candidates were cross-filed.
