Gateway cheerleaders donate

The 2022-23 Gateway High School cheerleaders made a donation to the Susan G. Komen nonprofit, which addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts in order to make the biggest impact against the disease.

The students raised $250 toward the cause through the sale of pink T-shirts, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

International Women meet

The International Women group will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville.

All women in the community, whether American or foreign-born, are invited to attend. The featured speaker will be Barbara Burstin, author of “Sophie: The Incomparable Mayor Masloff.”

Because of covid restrictions, the church’s babysitting service is suspended until further notice.

Thanksgiving dinner

Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish is sponsoring a Thanksgiving dinner for those who otherwise would eat alone on the holiday.

Located at 245 Azalea Drive in Monroe­ville, the church will serve dinner in the Lourdes Center from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. or until the food is gone on Nov. 24.
