Diamante Trìo performs at library
The Diamante Trìo with vocalist Lilly Abreu will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Gallery Space at Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd.
Members of the trio are Mary Beth Malek (clarinet), Paula Tuttle (cello) and Juan Jaramillo (violin), with a repertoire including bossa nova, samba, tangos, jazz and traditional popular songs.
Monroeville budget meetings
Public meetings addressing Monroeville’s 2023 budget are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 at the municipal building, 2700 Monroeville Blvd.
Council will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 to consider adoption of the budget and related ordinances.
The $36.6 million proposed spending plan is available for inspection between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the municipal manager’s office. The document also is available at Monroeville Public Library and by visiting www.monroeville.pa.us.
Fall craft and vendor show
Monroeville United Methodist Church will host a fall craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at the church, 219 Center Road.
There will be roughly 50 vendors, including artist Linda Barnicott. Refreshments will be available for purchase, and proceeds go toward the church’s missions.

Beer Knowledge 101
Beer samples, pretzel necklaces for noshing and discussions on beer basics all are happening from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 in Monroeville Public Library’s Gallery Space.
The library is kicking off its Beer Knowledge 101 After Hours Series to provide insight about the differences between ales and lagers, and the popularity of adjunct beverages such as sours, ciders and hard seltzers.
Host Nils Hanzcar has more than 20years of experience in production, service and sales in the beer industry. He is the co-author of “Illustrated Breweries of Pennsylvania” with Frank Cunniff, featured in Craft Pittsburgh magazine, and the comic book series “You Can Did It” with Mike Carretta about some extraordinary home brewers.

International Women meet
The International Women group will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville.
All women in the community, whether American or foreign-born, are invited to attend. The featured speaker will be Barbara Burstin, author of “Sophie: The Incomparable Mayor Masloff.”
Because of covid restrictions, the church’s babysitting service is suspended until further notice.
Thanksgiving dinner
Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish is sponsoring a Thanksgiving dinner for those who otherwise would eat alone on the holiday.
Located at 245 Azalea Drive in Monroeville, the church will serve dinner in the Lourdes Center from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. or until the food is gone on Nov. 24.
