Tickets for Gateway High School’s upcoming musical are available.
The high school’s box office hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tickets are available online at gatewaymusical.ludus.com. Adult tickets cost $12. Senior citizens and student tickets are $10.
This year’s musical will be “Once on This Island,” which is based on a 1985 novel set in the French Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. It’s about a peasant girl who uses the power of love to unify people of varying social classes. The modern musical was written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
The novel, titled “My Love, My Love; or, The Peasant Girl” was written by Rosa Guy and is a retelling of “The Little Mermaid,” according to Google Books.
Performances will take place at the Robert A. Read Performing Arts Center at Gateway High School. The performance dates and times are:
• April 26 – 7:30 p.m.
• April 27 – 7:30 p.m.
• April 28 – 2 p.m.
• May 3 –7:30 p.m.
• May 4 – 2 and 7:30 p.m.
