After a four-month delay and a restart of the project in March, Forbes Road will reopen on Thursday following a $1.34 million landslide repair project, PennDOT officials said Tuesday.
The road was expected to reopen today, Wednesday, but PennDOT Spokesman Steve Cowan said paving equipment issues forced a brief delay.
A portion of the road, between Haymaker Road and Steward Station Drive, has been closed since July for landslide repair, paving, shoulder reconstruction and line painting by Braddock contractor Mele & Mele Sons Inc.
The project was initially expected to wrap up in November 2020, but crane work had to wait on local utility companies to move aerial utility lines across the road.
Cowan said the road is expected to reopen to traffic on Wednesday.
