Fleeing, escape, DUIs among charges recently handled by Monroeville judge Jeffrey Herbst

Monroeville District Court Judge Jeffrey Herbst handled these cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Charges were filed by Monroeville police unless otherwise noted.

Held for court

• Shaquawn Cole, 24, of Rankin on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, improperly passing a vehicle on the right, speeding, exceeding 55 mph by 15 mph, reckless driving and two DUIs. Charges were filed Sept. 15.

• Davon Carter Williams, 32, with six counts of animal fighting for amusement or gain, two counts of owning or possessing or selling an animal for animal fighting, three counts of encouraging and aiding in animal fighting, three counts of paying admission to attend animal fighting, 12 counts of cruelty to animals, a charge of knowingly permitting animal fighting and one charge of having animal fighting paraphernalia. Charges were filed July 27.

• Brandon Steele, 28, of Monroeville on charges of causing an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle, obstructing the administration of the law, resisting arrest, being a habitual offender, possession of drugs, public drunkenness, careless driving, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, institutional vandalism and a DUI. Charges were filed Dec. 13.

Waived for court

• Donald Noel, 42, of Irvona, Pa., on charges of escape, flight to avoid apprehension and providing false identification to a law enforcement officer. Charges were filed July 22.

• Erik David Faulkner, 27, of Penn Hills on charges of disorderly conduct and three counts of making terroristic threats. Charges were filed Nov. 23.
