McKnight Road reopens after closure for vehicle-pedestrian crash in Ross
A pedestrian was in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Ross Township.
The crash happened just after 8 p.m. in the 4500 block of McKnight Road, according to an Allegheny County 911 supervisor. The supervisor said one person was taken from the scene by ambulance for treatment.
Township police posted on Facebook that southbound traffic on McKnight Road was being diverted onto Babcock Boulevard while access to McKnight Road South was closed at Nelson Run Road.
The road was reopened to traffic shortly before 11 p.m.
Police at the scene confirmed to news partner WPXI-TV that the woman who was hit was alive but unconscious and in critical condition.
Police also told WPXI that there was no sign of foul play or that the driver was intoxicated.
