A 65-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon in North Versailles, according to authorities.

North Versailles police said the two-vehicle crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on East Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard near Braddock Avenue.

A 19-year-old man driving an SUV with a 16-year-old female passenger crossed the median and struck an oncoming passenger van driven by the 65-year-old man, police said. There were no passengers in the van.

The teens in the SUV were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The van driver was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died. Police have not released the man’s name.

Allegheny County Police are investigating.
