Kennywood pits rides against each other a la March Madness
Kennywood is asking fans of the West Mifflin amusement park to pick their favorite park rides, March Madness-style.
The park recently announced its bracket-driven competition on social media. Twitter users “get to help crown our fan-favorite ride” over the course of three rounds and a championship, the park wrote while sharing their bracket matchups.
Will the Jack Rabbit triumph over the Whip in the first round? What about that match-up between Thunderbolt and The Old Mill?
It’s the best of the old vs. the best of the new in Kennywood Madness 2023, where YOU get to help crown our fan-favorite ride! It all leads to our championship, where the classics & thrills see who reigns supreme. Voting will occur exclusively via Twitter polls. Begins Thursday! pic.twitter.com/HXUPkPnNNn

Voting started Thursday via Twitter polls on the park’s feed.
By 8 a.m., fans were clearly favoring the Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt. However, the competition was a bit closer between the Racer and Noah’s Ark. And the Kangaroo’s big early lead was slowly being eaten away by the Turtle.
The championship round vote takes place April 2 and 3.
The park will open for the season on April 22. Daily operations will begin May 26.
