Nature Nights

New Shaler manager hired

Christopher Lovato was hired as Shaler’s new township manager at commissioners’ Aug. 9 meeting. The board voted unanimously to approve the hire. Lovato will take over in December, when current manager Tim Rogers retires, but will begin working for the township in September.

Community yard sale

Shaler Township’s Fourth Annual Community Yard Sale will take place at Kiwanis Park from 8:30-2 p.m. Sept. 10.

Cost is $20 per parking space, and is limited to 80 spaces. Bring and set up your own table beginning at 7:30 a.m.

If you are requesting a spot next to someone, we recommend one person purchase both spaces. If that is not possible, please leave your request in the ‘Special Request’ field, and include the other seller’s name. The township will do its best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee this. All unsold items must be taken away with you.

For more information, visit shaler.org.

AARP meeting

Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at Hampton Presbyterian Church, 2842 E. Hardies Road in Gibsonia. Annual membership is $7 per person. Join for fun, friendship and great trips.

Lions breakfast

The Elfinwild Lions Club is sponsoring a free-will offering omelet/sausage breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Sept. 10 at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church on Mt. Royal Boulevard. Breakfast consists of a western or cheese omelet, sausage, potatoes, fruit cup and choice of drink.
