In brief: Dementia Friends information session, class reunion and more in the Shaler area
Dementia Friends
A campaign to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around dementia is underway with the support of a Shaler North Hills Library employee.
Ingrid Kalchthaler, head of youth services at the library, is hosting a Dementia Friends information session at 6:30 p.m. June 28 at the library and is looking for local people to join in learning about dementia and helping people who are living with it in our community.
Dementia Friends is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way we think, talk and act about the disease. The Dementia Friends session helps you learn about dementia and the small ways you can help.
Registration is required as space is limited to assure participants get the most out of the session.
Anyone interested in attending the Dementia Friends Session can register at tinyurl.com/shalerfriends or by calling Shaler North Hills Library at 412-486-0211.
Shaler North Hills Library is located at 1822 Mt. Royal Blvd. in Glenshaw.
