The Friends of Pine Community Parks presented the first installment of its $200,000 commitment to fund the new amphitheater project under construction in Pine Community Park during the township’s supervisors meeting Dec. 2.

Representatives of the Friends group were present at the meeting to formally pass the gift to the supervisors. The amphitheater will be named Friends’ Amphitheater in honor of the organization’s generosity.

Friends of Pine Community Parks is a charitable organization that provides sports, recreational and social facilities and activities for the betterment of the community.

Construction has begun on the new amphitheater. The work is expected to last through early 2025 and will be open to the public in the spring . Construction work includes the installation of an amphitheater, as well as seat walls to allow for optimal viewing areas. The natural terrain of the site makes the space ideal for this use.

The space will be used for the Community Day concert, concerts and movies in the park, programs such as acting or dance camps, and a speaker series. The amphitheater will also be available for renting.
