• O’Hara approves tentative budget with no tax increase

O’Hara council will vote on a 2021 budget during its meeting on Dec. 8.

The $13.9 million plan does not include a tax increase.

• Forest Hills pre-kindergarten student awarded Shady Side Academy scholarship

A Forest Hills youngster was awarded full tuition for his entire Shady Side Academy education through his senior year.

The program is funded by an endowment from the EQT Foundation, the charitable arm of natural gas producer EQT Corporation.

It is worth more than $300,000.

• PWSA pleads guilty to pumping sludge into river from Aspinwall treatment facility

For seven years, employees and supervisors at the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority dumped sludge into the Allegheny River from the Aspinwall treatment facility, violating the Clean Water Act and sending plumes of rust-colored chemicals into the river, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady said.

The authority pleaded guilty to eight federal charges, including seven counts of lying on written reports to the Environmental Protection Agency.

• Fox Chapel’s Adam Rosenberg pleads not guilty to killing Verona man

Fox Chapel Adam Rosenberg, 22, was held for court on charges criminal homicide, robbery, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in connection to the killing of Christian Moore-Rouse.

Rosenberg, accused of killing Moore-Rouse,of Verona, pleaded not guilty in a preliminary hearing Nov. 20 at Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
