As coronavirus cases are beginning to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, the communities within The Herald coverage area are still seeing varying numbers of positive cases.
As of Jan. 20, there have been 251 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Fox Chapel since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. One death has been reported, and 2,077 tests have been administered to Fox Chapel residents.
Fox Chapel’s case rate is 466 per 10,000 residents.
• Since the pandemic began, Aspinwall has had 82 total cases of the virus. In that time, Aspinwall has seen one death and 689 tests have been administered to its residents. Aspinwall’s case rate is 293 per 10,000 residents.
• In O’Hara, 422 total cases of the virus have been reported, with two deaths. A total of 2,835 tests have been administered to O’Hara residents, and the case rate is 502 per 10,000 residents.
• Sharpsburg has had 101 cases of the virus and one death. A total of 852 tests have been administered to Sharpsburg residents, and the case rate is 293 per 10,000 residents.
• In Blawnox, 63 total cases of the virus have been reported. There has been one death reported, and 361 tests have been administered to Blawnox residents. The case rate is 440 per 10,000 residents.
• Indiana Township has had 442 cases of the virus with four deaths reported. There have been 2,084 tests administered to Indiana residents, and the case rate is 609 per 10,000 residents.
