As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the communities within The Herald coverage area seeing varying numbers of positive cases and deaths.
As of Dec. 16, there have been 163 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Fox Chapel since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. One death has been reported, and 1,789 tests have been administered to Fox Chapel residents.
Fox Chapel’s case rate is 303 per 10,000 residents.
• Since the pandemic began, Aspinwall has had 46 total cases of the virus. In that time, Aspinwall has seen no deaths and 580 tests have been administered. Aspinwall’s case rate is 164 per 10,000 residents.
• In O’Hara, 280 total cases of the virus have been reported, with one death. O’Hara has had 2,479 residents tested, and the case rate is 333 per 10,000 residents.
• Sharpsburg has had 62 cases of the virus and one death. Tests have been administered to 704 Sharpsburg residents, and the case rate is 180 per 10,000 residents.
• In Blawnox, 40 total cases of the virus have been reported, with one death. Blawnox has had 300 residents tested, and the case rate is 279 per 10,000 residents.
• Indiana Township has had 228 cases of the virus with no deaths reported. Tests have been administered to 1,747 Indiana residents, and the case rate is 314 per 10,000 residents.
