SSA students raise money for trangender people
Shady Side Academy junior Braden Crow and members of the school’s Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) raised $552 through a T-shirt sale and bake sale for Point of Pride, a volunteer-run nonprofit that works to assist transgender people in need.
Students designed and printed T-shirts featuring the GSA logo using the in-house equipment in the Senior School’s Glimcher Tech & Design Hub, which enabled the club to donate 90% of each T-shirt sale to Point of Pride, rather than 60% if they had printed the shirts through an external vendor.
The club raised an additional $192 by hosting a bake sale.
