Shady Side Academy presents virtual showing of 'Now. Here. This.'

Shady Side Academy Senior School students will present the virtual spring musical “Now. Here. This.” on May 21.

The video will be available at shadysideacademy.org/theater.

Online viewing is free but donations to the drama program will be accepted.

Written by Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell and Jeff Bowen, “Now. Here. This.” follows the evolution and adventures of a group of friends as they journey through time from the present to the past and back again.

They share stories of friendship, hoarding and hiding in an attempt to step directly into the present moment.

More than 40 Senior School students are participating.

Lead roles in the ensemble cast went to seniors Annabel Everett of Fox Chapel, Charlotte McDaniel of Highland Park, Jake Rohr of Fox Chapel, and juniors Braden Crow of North Huntingdon and Ava Kronman of Fox Chapel.

Also participating are seniors Alyssa Colen, Emma Filchock and Nathan Jyachosky; juniors Riley Doyle, Aasia Gabbour, Noah Delisma, Gloria Mancilla-Balog and Melody Yuan; sophomores Carson Curley, Elaine Gombos, Elizabeth Kamin, Chelsea Kaufmann, Cassidy Mineo, Cole Patterson, Ben Rohr and Karina Saba; and freshmen Jack Engel, Marley Grandizio, Aaron Little and Kayla Zhu.

Senior Annabel Everett of Fox Chapel is the assistant director, senior Katie Sparvero is the dramaturg, junior Riley Doyle is the choreographer, senior Hannah Romoff is the stage manager, junior Gigi Horgan is the assistant stage manager and senior Em Davidheiser is the projection designer.

Other student crew members include seniors Ishika Arora, Alexander Biglan, Zhouxin Ma and Bridget Onest; juniors Isabel Brunner, Mandy Lin and Lochlan McGinnis; sophomores Ellie Brisland, Zach Kamenov, Zoey Miller, Elle Ruttenberg and Chloe Wells; and freshman Tashari Morgan.

Faculty member Dana Hardy-Bingham is the director, staff member Austin Davidheiser is set and lighting designer, alumnus Tron McConnell is assistant technical director and staff member James Knox is cinematographer and editor. The music director is Amanda Olmstead, the musical tracks are by Bob Neumeyer, and the audio engineer is Brit Pierce.
