The Dorseyville Middle School Philharmonic and Sinfonia orchestras earned high ratings at the High Note Music Festival on May 27.

The Dorseyville Middle School Philharmonic and Sinfonia orchestras earned high ratings at the High Note Music Festival. Both orchestras were rated Superior, and the groups received trophies for their performances. The festival was held May 27 at Kennywood Park and Duquesne University.

The Dorseyville Middle School Philharmonic Orchestra includes 50 students and the Sinfonia Orchestra has 20 students, all in grades six, seven, and eight. The orchestras are under the direction of teacher Jeffrey Bryer.

Members of the Fox Chapel Area High School Class of 1972 will have their 50th reunion on Sept. 3 at The Riverside Landing in Oakmont. Other activities are connected to the reunion during the Labor Day weekend.

Penn Hills High School’s Class of 1973 will celebrate its 50-year class reunion on Oct. 6, 2023, from 5-11 p.m. at Futules Harmar House in Harmarville.
