A Forest Hills woman has been charged with assaulting and robbing a man of around $1,500 after following him from Rivers Casino to his Aspinwall home, according to Allegheny County Police.

A 66-year-old man turned up at UPMC St. Margaret hospital around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday with face and head trauma, Inspector Michael Peairs said.

Aspinwall police Chief Dave Nemec said the man reported he’d been pistol-whipped by a woman who demanded cash. He said the incident happened near the intersection of Second Street and Western Avenue.

Nemec said the area where the alleged robbery occurred is not under any type of video surveillance and there were no eyewitnesses.

Police believe 28-year-old Jaimeca Johnson followed the man from the casino on Pittsburgh’s North Shore after she saw him redeem his winnings, Peairs said. She took off with around $1,500, authorities said.

Police took Johnson into custody about 9:30 a.m. in Forest Hills. She is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft, reckless endangerment and firearms violations.

“Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has over a thousand surveillance cameras monitoring the property 24/7,” said casino spokesperson Jack Horner. “We cooperated fully with this investigation and commend police on their quick apprehension of the suspect.”
