Fox Chapel
Fox Chapel officials are considering amending an ordinance making installing solar panels on the front side of a house a permitted use.
It is currently considered a conditional use, meaning a property owner would have to go before the planning commission and seek approval before being able to install anything.
Solar panels are a permitted use if installed on the side or the rear of a house.
The ordinance is expected to be sent to the planning commission, as well as the Allegheny County Conservation District, prior to council taking any action.
More discussion about the ordinance is planned for the June 20 council meeting.
