Fox Chapel Council tables alcohol discussion

Fox Chapel Council tabled a discussion about allowing alcoholic beverages in borough parks at its July 18 meeting.

The issue came up earlier this year when the Fox Chapel Parks Conservancy wanted to serve such drinks at an event.

Councilwoman Mandy Steele said Conservancy officials have since pulled their request and no longer plan to have the event.

It is unclear if council will renew discussion about alcohol in the parks. The current ordinance prohibits alcoholic beverages at the recreation sites at all times.
