Sunshine and pleasant temperatures graced the 2023 Aspinwall Memorial Day Service and Parade on Monday, May 29.

A military fly-over began the Memorial Day commemoration, which included a service at the Aspinwall American Legion Post 77 on Commercial Avenue. Three 50-year members of the post — Robert B. Bursey, Dennis L. Chamboredon and Edward J. Zieger — were honored.

The service also included a wreath-laying at the veterans memorial outside Post 77. Several hundred people attended.

A parade then wound through the borough. Parade units included the Fox Chapel Area High School Marching Band, first responders, antique cars, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Hundreds of people participated.
