Fox Chapel Area High School is conducting a community blood drive Oct. 19 from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the high school’s large group instruction room.
People people 16 and older can donate blood.
Donations can be scheduled by going to: https://donateblood.centralbloodbank.org/. Choose “Donor Login” if you have donated blood before to Vitalant or Central Blood Bank. If you have not donated before, choose “New Donor.”
At the “Schedule your Appointment Today” screen, scroll down using the far right scroll bar and enter group code HS010025 to schedule your donation. If you cannot schedule online, please call 412/209-7000, or contact Rachel Machen in the high school guidance office at 412/967-2445, or email rachel_machen@fcasd.edu.
Donors are strongly encouraged to register, but walk ins are also welcome.
Additionally, anyone who donates blood at a local donor center can ask for the donation to count toward Fox Chapel Area High School’s total by specifying the school’s code — HS010025.
Vitalant is, once again, offering scholarships to area high school students. To qualify for these scholarships, Fox Chapel Area High School is hosting blood drives throughout the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarships are awarded for the highest percent participation and largest number of registered donations for the year. Fox Chapel Area 2022 graduates receiving the scholarships were Julia DeMarco, Grace Heary, Danielle Horne, Madeleine Muller, and Macayla Weiner.
Fox Chapel Area High School’s blood drive is being coordinated by the community outreach committee of the Fox Chapel Area High School Student Government.
The high school is located at 611 Field Club Road in O’Hara Township.
