The Honey Dewdrops will perform at 3 p.m. June 26, 2021 at Shady Side Academy.

The Hillman Performing Arts Series was expected to wrap up its 2021 season with back-to-back outdoor concerts this weekend, but one of the shows has been postponed.

Latin Grammy nominee Sonia De Los Santos will not be performing Sunday after a case of covid-19 was confirmed within her circle, according to Jen Roupe, school communications specialist.

The virus was a post-vaccination breakthrough case, Roupe said.

“We hope to reschedule Sonia De Los Santos as part of the next season of the Hillman Series in 2021-2022,” she said.

Americana duo The Honey Dewdrops will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday, as scheduled, and be the final show of the Hillman Series season.

That concert was expected to be performed on the loading dock behind the Hillman Center but will be moved indoors because of predicted heat and rain.

The band will take the stage inside the Hillman Center’s Rauh Theater with socially distant seating.

The Honey Dewdrops – Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish – perform original songs influenced by traditional Appalachian music with a contemporary flair.

With a clawhammer banjo, mandolin and acoustic guitars, the pair blends folk and acoustic with a hint of bluegrass.

The Hillman Center is on the Shady Side Academy Senior School campus at 423 Fox Chapel Road in Fox Chapel.

Tickets for The Honey Dewdrops are $20 and can be purchased online at thehillman.org.
