4 people arrested for drugs, guns at Pittsburgh hotel
Six guns, 12 bricks of heroin and $900 were recovered by Pittsburgh police during a raid on Friday at the Double Tree Hotel at Bigelow Square.
Just after 1 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a room on the 10th floor of the Downtown hotel after “an ongoing investigation into the recent rash of violence on the North Side,” Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
During an initial sweep of the room, “large quantities of narcotics” and a gun were found in plain view, Cruz said.
With a second search warrant, detectives recovered more firearms, 12 bricks of heroin and about $900.
Four people were taken in for questioning and later arrested. They include Samuel Mitchell, 27, Dorian Ingram, 26, Kevin Whitely, 22, and a juvenile who was not identified.
The adults were taken to the Allegheny County Jail and the juvenile was taken to Shuman Center, Cruz said.
The bust was conducted by officers from Narcotics and Vice, Violent Crime detectives and a SWAT team.
