Tod DiMinno, 54, who owned the Harmony Emporium, was found dead in the Allegheny River on Saturday, Oct. 8.

A Harmony-area businessman was found dead in the Allegheny River on Saturday afternoon.

Tod DiMinno, 54, who owned the Harmony Emporium, was last seen Sept. 28, according to the Zelienople Borough Police Department.

More than a week after he went missing, his body was found in a submerged car in the area adjacent to Acrisure Stadium.

An Oregon-based film crew discovered the body and car about 16 feet underwater and 30 yards from the North Shore’s Mister Rogers statue, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The crew alerted Pittsburgh police just before 1 p.m.

Pittsburgh River Rescue, Police and Fire worked with the crew’s divers and a towing company to remove the car from the water, police said.

The City of Pittsburgh’s major crimes detectives are investigating.

In an Oct. 4 press release, Zelienople Police initially speculated DiMinno perhaps traveled to Connecticut for a concert.
