Farm to Fork: Chatham’s weekly dinner series kicks off in Richland
Chatham University kicked off its Farm-to-Fork dinner series May 9 at the school’s Eden Hall campus in Richland.
Dinners will continue every Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Eden Hall large barn and tent.
Each week, chefs from Parkhurst Dining will serve up dishes using produce from Eden Hall’s farm and other local vendors to create culinary experiences for guests to enjoy on the grounds of the campus. Eden Hall is the first college campus built from the ground up as a model of sustainability and is home to Chatham’s Falk School of Sustainability and Environment.
The menu for the first dinner in the series was Mexican-themed and featured street tacos (both pulled pork and vegan lentil and tofu), elote (street corn), wild rice, beans, Jarritos soft drinks and churros for dessert.
Entrees are priced a la carte at $4, and sides, drinks and dessert are $3 per item. In addition to a la carte pricing, a full-meal option is available, which includes all items for $20.
Attendees can enjoy their meal at the barn, eat outside on campus or take their meal to go. While at Eden Hall, visitors have the opportunity to explore the campus, charge an electric vehicle at the new EV station or go for an after-dinner hike on the trail network.
“We are overjoyed by the genuine engagement and participation from the local community in our first Farm-to-Fork Dinner at Chathams’ Eden Hall Campus,” Alex Iracheta, Parkhurst Dining’s general manager at Chatham University, said. “We look forward to welcoming everyone again next week as we continue to expand upon this dinner series over the summer.”
