Shaler commissioners approved a stand-alone ATM machine to be built in the parking lot at 917 Butler St., near Shop’n Save.

People will be able to do their banking at a stand-alone ATM machine soon to be under construction along Shaler’s Butler Street business corridor.

Commissioners approved a site development plan from OptiVia LLC to build a drive-thru banking machine near the Shop’n Save grocery store.

It will sit at 917 Butler St.

“It will look similar to the one in front of GetGo,” Shaler Manager Tim Rogers said.

The unit will stand 40 feet by 8 feet, with a lane for traffic to drive around it. There will be landscaping installed once the weather breaks.

It will consist of two ATMs built into the cement footer and will offer basic transactions such as withdrawals.

Rogers said he expects construction to begin soon.

In other township news, commissioners appointed several people to serve on boards. They include:

• Ann Carlson and Lori Mizgorski to three-year terms on the Shaler North Hills Library board.

• Gregory Greiff to a four-year term on the township planning commission.

• Jon Rihn to a two-year term as fire liaison; he was also reappointed as emergency management coordinator.

• William Cross to a three-year term on the EMS board.

• Charles Porter to a three-year term on the zoning hearing board.
