Crews battled a house fire in McCandless early Tuesday morning, according to the Peebles District Volunteer Fire Co.

The two-alarm fire on Windmill Lane near McIntyre Square and Peebles Road was reported just before 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported. One firefighter was treated for dehydration, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

First responders told WPXI that the fire apparently started in the attic and spread down the back of the house.

Firefighters had stopped the blaze within an hour.

Nobody was living in the home, which is being renovated, according to WPXI.

Peebles Road was closed while firefighters were on scene, but had reopened by 6 a.m.

A fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.
