A woman was killed and a 7-year-old child was injured in a crash Thursday morning near the Mansfield Bridge in Glassport.

Allegheny County authorities said a McKeesport woman was killed and a child was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Glassport early Thursday morning.

Police said first responders found the female driver, Ennis Jorden Davis, 31, dead at the scene, with a 7-year-old child injured inside the vehicle. The child was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

The crash near the Mansfield Bridge was reported along Monongahela Avenue around 7:40 a.m. The Allegheny County coroner pronounced Davis dead at 7:59 a.m.

Nancy Piazza-Whaby, who lives across the street, from the scene of the crash, told Tribune-Review news partner WPXI she heard the moment of impact.

“I was getting ready for church around 7:30, and I heard a loud bang,” she said. “A bunch of smoke was coming out of the hood of the car. Nobody was coming out. Nobody was around, so I called 911.”

Police continue to investigate the crash.

Anyone with information concerning the incident should call the County Police Tip Line at 833-255-8477 (ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
