Coronavirus cases following national trend across Shaler Journal communities as of Feb. 3, 2021

As coronavirus cases begin to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, communities in the Shaler Journal area are also seeing their numbers rise less sharply.

As of Feb. 3, there have been 1,620 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Shaler since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. The township has reported 22 deaths, including four in the past week, and 7,656 tests have been administered to residents.

Since the pandemic began, Etna has had 182 cases (one death), Millvale has had 182 cases (one death) and Reserve has had 186 cases (two deaths).
