A Pittsburgh man will be tried in Common Pleas court on charges stemming from an August shooting at a North Side afterhours club that left another man critically injured.

Sheridan Marsh, 34, was arrested by Pittsburgh police and U.S. Marshals in October, two months after 34 rounds of gunfire were reported to be fired on Aug. 19 in the 2600 block of Perrysville Avenue, according to a criminal complaint.

Marsh was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and two firearms counts, court records show. Prosecutors withdrew the attempted homicide and endangerment charges during a preliminary hearing on Monday.

Marsh remains in Allegheny County Jail, court records show. A judge denied bail in November. He will be arraigned Feb. 22 in Common Pleas court.

Attorney George Lawrence Saba, who represents Marsh, did not return a call seeking comment.

Shortly before 5 a.m. on Aug. 19, Pittsburgh police received a ShotSpotter notification for 20 rounds of gunfire in the Perry South neighborhood on the city’s North Side, the complaint said. A subsequent alert indicated 14 more rounds were fired just two blocks away.

Pittsburgh police found a victim, who they did not name, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso on the rear deck of the afterhours club House of Savvy.

Officers removed the victim’s clothing and applied pressure and bandages as the man faded in and out of consciousness, the complaint said. A city ambulance took the victim to a hospital in critical condition. He later required surgery.

Police found some 36 spent bullet casings at the scene, the complaint said.
