Property owners in the Carlynton School District likely will not see an increase in their taxes next school year.

The district’s proposed budget for 2025-26 totals $37.1 million and maintains the current millage rate of 28.5083 mills.

“This budget allows us to continue supporting our outstanding academic programs, extracurricular activities and student services,” said John Kreider, district superintendent. “It reflects our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment; a world-class education; opportunities for growth in academics, athletics and the arts; and fiscal integrity on behalf of our community.”

A property owner with the district’s median assessed value of $109,800 would continue to pay $3,130 per year, or $260 per month, in school taxes under the proposed budget.

Homeowners who qualify for the state’s homestead exemption will see about a $268 reduction to that bill.

One mill generates $732,951 in revenue.

Kreider said the proposed budget prioritizes academic excellence, student services and fiscal responsibility.

According to the district, the spending plan includes additional personnel for classroom instruction and student needs; enhanced safety and security measures; expanded technology support for students, staff and families; new instructional materials for English and math classrooms; expanded STEAM programming; increased support services for English Language learners; and a new College in the High School course enabling students to earn college credit on campus.

It is the third time in four years the district hasn’t had a tax increase. School directors approved a 6.6% tax increase last year.
