Allegheny County
Zachary Allen Carcia

A Brookline man has been sentenced to three years of probation for downloading nearly three dozen videos of child pornography.

Zachary Allen Carcia, 27, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, court records show. Two related charges were withdrawn.

Gary Gerson, the Downtown attorney who represented Carcia, was not available for comment.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip last year that a person with the username “freakbeat13” downloaded 34 video files of child pornography from a MediaLab/Kik account on May 21, 2022, police said.

Allegheny County Police tracked the user’s IP address to Carcia, police said.

Police searched the Callio Street home where Carcia was living with his parents on Aug. 18, 2022, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.

“Carcia admitted to viewing child pornographic material through this account and confirmed to investigators that he had saved the (pornographic) material on a flash drive,” the complaint said.

At least three of the 34 videos police viewed on that USB drive featured children engaging in sexual activity, police said.

County police did not respond to requests for comment.
