Braddock man charged in case of missing 2-year-old
A 36-year-old Braddock man is facing charges after a 2-year-old boy was reported missing early Sunday morning.
Davon Xavier Brown is charged with interference with the custody of a child, concealing the whereabouts of a child and kidnapping, according to a release from Allegheny County police. Brown was also found to be wanted by the Pennsylvania State Parole Board for a violation of the terms of a previous release, officials said.
According to the police report, the child was in the care of Brown since 11 a.m. Saturday. Brown did not return the child as been expected, police said. By 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Braddock police responded to a report of a missing child at a home in the 500 block of Pine Way.
After issuing a Pennsylvania State Police Missing and Endangered Person Alert, Braddock police officers requested the investigative assistance of county police.
At 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Brown and the child were found inside a home in the 20 block of Uxor Way in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood. The child was unharmed.
According to court documents, Brown is being held in the Allegheny County Jail after being unable to post bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 19.
