A woman’s body was found in Stowe late Friday by crews searching for a missing adult female, according to Allegheny County Police.

Authorities said the discovery was made at about 10:30 p.m. The woman had been reported missing earlier in the week. Police did not identify her. County police were being assisted by Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group.

Police did not say where in the township they were searching. No information has been released by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Anyone with information is asked to call county police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group is a volunteer, nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh that has been in operation since 1985, according to its website.
