A pair of fires early Friday in Beltzhoover are being considered as suspicious, police said.

Two separate fires in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood early Friday morning are considered suspicious, police said.

The first fire in the 400 block of Beltzhoover Avenue was reported just after 1:15 a.m.

Police said the fire started in an unoccupied house and spread to another next door, and both were a total loss.

Firefighters saved a third house, but four adults from that house were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross was helping them, and the damage to their house was being assessed.

While still at that fire, firefighters were called to Freeland and Estella streets a couple of blocks away for a fully involved structure fire at an unoccupied house.

Several tall trees surrounding the house caught fire, police said. It was declared under control just before 3 a.m.

No firefighters were hurt at either fire, which were under investigation.
