Allegheny County reports 57 additional coronavirus cases, 1 new death

Allegheny County on Saturday reported 57 new coronavirus cases and one additional death, according to a report by the county’s health department.

The additional cases — 43 of which were confirmed, 14 probable — bumped the county’s seven-day average to 60 per day.

There were 1,127 total tests recorded during the previous 24-hour reporting period, according to the county. Those tests were administered from Sept. 2 to Sept. 11, the county said.

In all, Allegheny County has recorded 11,126 covid-19 cases since March 14. There have been 1,057 hospitalizations and 361 deaths.

New cases ranged in age from 2 to 90, with a median age of 29.

The age groups of the newly reported cases are:

0-4: 3

5-12: 0

13-18: 3

19-24: 8

25-49: 27

50-64: 5

65+: 11

The additional death reported Saturday came from a long-term care facility. The individual was in their 80s and died Friday, the county said.
