Allegheny County Police arrest suspect in fatal North Braddock shooting

A North Braddock man is accused of the fatal shooting of a Swissvale man in North Braddock early Thursday morning, Allegheny County Police said.

The suspect, Robert Lawson-Johnson, is charged with homicide and firearms violations in the shooting death of Benjamin Dixon, 33, in the 1200 block of Rebecca Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Dixon was shot multiple times, police said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner listed Dixon’s address as being in Edgewood.

North Braddock police were assisted by the county police homicide unit, which identified Lawson-Johnson as the suspect.
