The skyline of Pittsburgh is seen through the morning haze from across the Allegeheny River.

The Allegheny County Health Department revealed a new air quality dashboard on Monday in an attempt to simplify information for the public.

The revamped dashboard, which uses buttons, rather than tabs, provides easily digestible and understandable data for all users, the county said.

The tool was developed by the Air Quality program staff working with the CountyStat team, a collaboration that involved more than 400 hours of work.

“I firmly believe in transparency and ensuring that data be presented in ways that are easy to interpret

and understand,” Health Department Director Dr. Debra Bogen said in a statement. “We all want and deserve clean

air. Contributing to the greater collective understanding of air quality is an integral step in the process

of improving everyone’s health.”
