5 things to do in Pittsburgh this weekend: July 29-31
It’s the last weekend in July. Here are some ways to spend it.
Beer here
Pittsburgh Summer Beer Fest is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Stage AE on the North Shore.
The two-night annual event features craft beers from approximately 200 local, regional and hard-to-find brews, as well as offerings from wineries and distilleries.
The festival, which takes place outside and inside, benefits Animal Rescue Partners and Biggies Bullies.
Tickets are $65 per day.

Goat Fest
The annual Goat Fest is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday on the South Side at South Side Park.
Friends of South Side Park brought in goats from Allegheny Goatscape as part of an ecological restoration effort. The animals eat invasive plants. There will be more than 30 vendors in an artisan market, live music, a goat-themed puzzle adventure through the park, tree adoptions, face painting, a petting zoo, inflatable slide, and guided tree plantings.
Parking is available at 21st Street and Josephine Street. There is a free shuttle.
The majority of the event takes place at the Arlington Ball Field behind the Arlington Fire Station.
The event is free, but donations are welcome.

Yinzer night
Friday is Yinzerpalooza at PNC Park on the North Shore when the Pirates host the Phillies at 7:05 p.m. There will be a pre-game pierogi-eating contest. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will throw out the first pitch. The national anthem will be performed by the University of Pittsburgh marching band. A Miller Lite Happy Hour will take place pregame in the Crow’s Nest with drink specials and live music and more. After the game, Pittsburgh’s own The Clarks will take the stage.

Rage Against the Machine
Alternative rock band Rage Against the Machine is bringing its Public Service Announcement Tour at 8 p.m. on Friday at PPG Paints Arena, Uptown. It is known for music that includes elements of hip-hop and heavy metal.
The group formed in Los Angeles in the 1990s and its albums include “Evil Empire,” “The Battle of Los Angeles” and “Renegades.” The opening band is Run the Jewels.
Tickets start at $125.

Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Festival
The Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Festival is Saturday and Sunday at the Pittsburgh Shrine Center in Harmar. The event benefits Autism Pittsburgh and Band Together Pittsburgh, a non-profit organization where people on the autism spectrum can express their musical talent. Some of the musicians from Band Together Pittsburgh will perform at the event, as will Mike Zito, Tinsley Ellis, Buffalo Rose, The Night Hawks, Miss Freddye Blues Band and others.
Gates open at noon both days. Tickets start at $35. Youth 16 and younger are free.
