Pair face homicide charges in 2021 killing of Uber driver
Two men are accused of murdering an Uber driver in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood in March 2021, Pittsburgh police said.
The suspects, Kendall McKoy, 20, of the Hill District, and Da’rohn Winmon, 23, of Penn Hills are accused of shooting Kristofer Metzger, 35, of Pittsburgh. The two face charges of criminal homicide, criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, conspiracy and firearms violations, police said.
Metzger was shot multiple times at the intersection of Zephyr and Narcissus avenues in Sheraden, shortly after midnight March 6, 2021, police said. Metzger, an Army veteran, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Winmon was arrested in Penn Hills by Pittsburgh police and the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, police said.
He was transported to Allegheny County Jail, while McKoy already was incarcerated in jail, said Cara Cruz, police spokeswoman. McKoy had been arrested on June 28 for allegedly fleeing or attempting to elude an officer.
