2 injured, 1 critically, in Hazelwood and Beltzhoover shootings
Two people were injured, with one in critical condition, following two separate shootings late Friday night in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood and Beltzhoover neighborhoods, according to police.
Police responded to a shots-fired call just before 11:20 p.m. near the intersection of Boggs and Warrington avenues in Beltzhoover. They arrived to find a man who had been shot in the back.
EMS transported the man to a local hospital in critical condition.
• Ten minutes later, officers were called for multiple ShotSpotter alerts near Flowers Avenue in the city’s Hazelwood neighborhood. They found a man whose neck had been grazed by a bullet. Police said the man told them he’d been shot on Flowers and fled to a nearby home for help.
He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police are investigating both incidents.
