A man and woman have been detained for questioning in connection with gunshots fired Tuesday afternoon in downtown Pittsburgh, city police said.

There were no injuries as a result of gunshots being fired near the intersection of Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Sixth Street around 3:30 p.m. Police did not say if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.

When police responded to the report of shots being fired, people pointed out the woman, who was found to have a gun in her waistband. Police said she told them she had fired shots toward a man after an altercation.

Fort Duquesne Boulevard was closed from Ninth Street to Seventh Street while investigators processed the scene.

Additional details were not available late Tuesday afternoon.
