The 15-year-old skateboarder who was hit by a vehicle last week died, his grandmother told Trib news partner WTAE.

Charlie Thornburg was hit by the vehicle Wednesday evening at the intersection of Winlock Avenue and Joel Street in Ingram.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on the scene. Allegheny County police are investigating.

The boy’s grandmother, Denise Ball, told WTAE he loved skateboarding and rode often on his street.

He had been in a medically induced coma with a traumatic brain injury. On Monday, Ball said he had been taken off of life support and died shortly after 10 a.m. His organs were donated, WTAE reported.
