The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and Pittsburgh police responded early Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, to a fire engulfing three Pittsburgh police cruisers in the parking lot adjacent to the Police Training Academy.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $10,000 reward for information surrounding the arson of three Pittsburgh Police vehicles.

ATF investigators arrived on scene early Wednesday at the academy at 900 N. Lincoln Ave. in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood. The three cars were parked in the academy parking lot before officials believe they were set on fire.

Officials said the flames broke out about 2:30 a.m. and were fully engulfed when fire crews arrived.

The vehicles were unoccupied and no one was injured, according to police. The fires did not spread beyond the three cruisers, they said.

All three vehicles are considered a total loss.

Anyone with information should contact ATF at 1-888-283-8477 or email ATFTips@atf.gov or the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police at 412-323-7800.
