A woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition after a bar argument led to gunshots early Saturday morning, police said.

Pittsburgh Police working the South Side responded to hearing shots fired just after 1 a.m. in the area of 1100 East Carson Street, where they found a woman who’d been shot in the lower leg. She was conscious and spoke with medics and police, and was taken to the hospital on stable condition.

Witnesses told police an altercation in a nearby bar spilled out onto the street before one of the men involved pulled a gun, firing several rounds before fleeing on foot toward South 10th Street.

Police said they located the suspect a short time later and arrested him. His name was not released, however police said they expect to file aggravated assault charges.
